Concept Art (NEW!)

Below are some exclusive pieces of concept art for the book, all by the incredible Erin McCutcheon (also responsible for the SIH's cover art). The page will be periodically updated as more pieces are complete.

Our Hero, The Nameless. A reserved and observant genius, he travels through life largely uncontested by his peers; that is, until he meets David. As he grows, he begins to develop a knack for visiting worlds outside Earth, and even teaches himself to manipulate the flow of time. In lieu of the obvious issues around being born without a name, he adopts the pseudonym of "James".

Here are David and our Hero. Despite a lifetime of trying, The Nameless is forever humbled by David's great strength and success; no amount of effort seems enough to bridge the gap between them. This piece represents that struggle; our Hero, forever falling by the wayside but desperately holding on, and David, flying ever higher, always pushing him away.

Who are these mysterious characters? On the left there is Tobijah, and on the right is Esme. They don't play a very big role in 'Subterfuge in Heart', but their roles are big indeed. Perhaps they will be important to future books in the series..
